Performance specs for the 2020 model of Audi’s flagship S8 are now available.
The car’s looks are indisputably arresting; that goes for any high-end Audi sedan, however. They’ve always been lookers. This one receives a mildly updated shape, with more angular front bumper and sportier side sills, and quad exhaust tips.
The S8 is a sports sedan above all, though, so the specs are quite impressive. The range-topping Audi’s power comes from a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which produces 571 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. The sedan is expected to reach an electronically-limited top speed of 155.3 mph. In keeping with Audi’s progressive approach to EV tech, the V8 engine is paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system for added efficiency.
The S8 will come equipped with a sport differential, four-wheel steering, and active suspension. This is in addition to the vehicle’s new “Comfort+” mode that reduces the feeling of lateral acceleration.
Detailed availability and pricing information is still pending.
