Iconic NFL quarterback Joe Montana is hoping to catch the right buyer with the listing of his Napa Valley ranch for $3.1 million.

Montana purchased the 87-acre Bay Area property in 1998 for $1.8 million. Located in Calistoga, in the heart of wine country, the expansive ranch served as a country getaway for the busy athlete after his retirement.

It’s not currently a residence, though it is equestrian-ready. There are stables, a covered riding arena, and an 11-stall breezeway barn, however, as well as a ranch office that could be converted to a house. Additionally, the property boasts a lake fitted with a small dock, a round riding pen, and fenced pastures, and the double-parcel plot features incredible views of the lush Napa landscape.

Montana, known variously as “Joe Cool” and the “Comeback Kid,” is best known for his legendary tenure with the San Francisco 49ers.
