With the ink barely dry on the papers for the $10 million Hollywood Hills contemporary he purchased in the winter, this summer Uber co-founder Garrett Camp has opened his prodigious wallet once again to pluck out $73 million and plunk it down for a stunning contemporary in Trousdale Estates. The sale price set a record for residential Beverly Hills real estate.
Like the Hollywood Hills house, this is a new build. The exterior features a concept entrance that foreshadows the interiors.
Within the home, the design sensibility is starkly beautiful. Poured concrete, ambient LED lighting, and dark wood accents are prominent materials and design elements, and the sense of scale is of course considerable.
The home’s exterior living space is also substantial: the lot extends to about an acre, quite large for Trousdale Estates. A zero-edge pool and wood deck are among the highlights, although one assumes there’s a summer/catering kitchen hiding somewhere too.
The home Camp purchased in Hollywood Hills joined another already in his portfolio. He picked up that property—a modern on a particularly lush lot—about three years ago.
Camp owns several other properties in California. His net worth is in the neighborhood of $4 billion.
