Pro-basketball star Kevin Durant recently sold his Malibu home for $12.15 million. The Golden State small forward purchased the Broad Beach residence for $12.05 million last year, so the quick turnaround didn’t lend too much of a return on his investment, especially after fees are factored into the final tally. That’s all right, he’s decamping for the East Coast anyway.
The home is a now-classic Malibu ‘cottage’: a towering presence with contemporary flourishes. The 5,100-square-foot home boasts French oak floors, soaring ceilings, and a series of skylights. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass walls on three floors make the most of the lovely location.
The home’s interiors are bright, airy and casual. A combination main living space flowing from the living room with fireplace to the dining area and the gourmet kitchen, which features an all-white aesthetic, marble countertops, and stainless steel appliances.
The home’s four bedrooms are easily accessible via an elevator; the master has an upper floor all to its lonesome, with a private deck that surveys the beach. Additional exterior living space includes a deck with a built-in spa and al-fresco dining area.
Just this week, Durant signed on with the Brooklyn Nets.
