Actor Simon Helberg recently dropped $6.9 million on a quaint period Spanish-style in sunny SoCal.
Helberg’s purchase comes after the end of his tenure as a lead on the hit show “Big Bang Theory.” Now, the star can enjoy some well-earned time off in his 1930s-built Spanish Colonial nestled against a hillside in the Los Feliz area.
Completed updated and restored, the 4,000-square-foot home contains five bedrooms and 5.5 baths. The interiors boast white walls, a blend of Spanish tiling and hardwood floors, and abundant windows and French doors.
Original details abound in the home, with stucco, an original front door, and hand-painted and terra-cotta tile topping the list. The living room is particularly evocative of the period, with rustic raw timber ceiling beams and a fireplace. The spacious dining area is a step-up. Further inside, the gourmet kitchen wows with Shaker-style cabinetry finished in a bold forest green hue.
The more than half-acre property also boasts a backyard with plenty of space to entertain. In addition to a lush patch of lawn, the backyard has an outdoor kitchen with a built-in grilling area, a dining terrace, a large swimming pool with a spa, and a detached poolside guesthouse.
The home had also been owned by Vince Vaughn.
