French aircraft manufacturer Dassault Aviation is set to begin production of its highly anticipated Falcon 6X business jet. The aircraft boasts a cabin that is 6.5′ in height by 8.5′ in width, and a range of 5,500 nm.

Dassault’s been in the news recently for its new fighter jets, but the business jet market is going strong, with luxury builds riding high. By virtue of its range and its decidedly comfortable sense of space, the Falcon 6X should pay off for the company in spades.

The development of the 6X has been ongoing for several years. The production jet features a 16-passenger capacity thanks to its large cabin cross section. Other highlights that will appeal to target buyers include lush individual seats and three lounge spaces, the ability to customize the cabin’s layout and design to suit, and a range that will take passengers from L.A. to Geneva or New York to Moscow without stopping to refuel.

Production on the 6X follows the jet’s successful completion of the Critical Design Review; the jet’s maiden flight is scheduled for 2021. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2022.
