Actress and musician Parker Posey recently picked up a New York City penthouse for $1.495 million.
The “Lost in Space” star’s charming new triplex is located in the popular Chelsea neighborhood. The three-story brick building dates to 1910, and was originally an industrial building; the unit sits on top of what is now a townhouse, and spans just 800 square feet.
It’s a warm one-bedroom, 1.5-bath apartment with a great deal of character. Inside, brick and dark wood, oak parquet floors and track lighting give it a classic West Village feel. The kitchen’s earthy granite, slate, and subway tile are contrasted with a decorative mission-style flourish in the cabinetry, and the home’s centerpieces—a spiral staircase with a sculpted solid balustrade and a weighty brick fireplace—add dimension. Natural light via a half-moon window and prominent corner box opens up the space well.
The layout is stacked, with levels more or less rooms, giving the spot the nifty feeling of discovery when moving between floors. And, up top? A roof deck complete with a bar with a sink and refrigerator…just in time for early summer.
