“The Young and the Restless” actress Melody Thomas Scott recently listed her Los Angeles-area home for $7.25 million.

Scott and her husband, producer Edward J. Scott, purchased the grandiose Beverly Hills Post Office-area residence for $2.3 million back in 2001. Spanning 6,080 square feet, the six-bedroom home is designed to awe; the level of detail and the attention given the interior composition is striking.

Classic features include hardwood floors and coffered ceilings, and the period fireplace in the living area. The spacious kitchen is one of the most impressive rooms; it receives a dramatic treatment thanks to white cabinetry contrasted with dark countertops, and features a massive eat-in center island.  The formal dining space is just as beautiful with a statement-making light fixture, and a set of French doors.

The exterior living space is similarly effective, with an infinity-edge swimming pool with water jets, a grill and dining area, and a cabana all nestled within the tropical-landscaped grounds.
