With the birth of their first child in the recent past, actors Kate Mara and Jamie Bell picked up a family-oriented Los Angeles-area home for $2.567 million.
It seems like the couple was eager to buy the place, as they paid about $267,000 over ask for the Los Feliz residence. But who could blame them. The property is exceedingly private; the lot is nestled in the lush foothills, and the home is tucked behind tall foliage.
The 1930s-era build was the work of architect Garrett Van Pelt. It spans 2,394 square feet, with three bedrooms, and light and airy living spaces that are given a beautiful and contrasting foundation with mid-tone oak floors.
The all-white kitchen stands out with vaulted ceilings, skylights, a patterned floor, ample counter space, stainless steel appliances, and space for a small casual dining table. Outside, the long, narrow backyard boasts a brick terrace, and a small pool with a spa.
Mara’s recent roles include playing doomed campaigner Mary Jo Kopechne in last years’ ‘Chappaquiddick’; Bell starred in last year’s gritty ‘Donnybrook.’ The pair met on the set of ‘Fantastic Four.’
