BMW is still withholding a full reveal of its upcoming 2020 X5 M50i and X7 M50i. But, to whet the appetite, the German automaker has provided a sneak peek at the new power specs and base pricing for the vehicles.
It was recently revealed that the highly anticipated new SUV models will both be powered by 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engines. If the engine specs seems familiar, that’s because they can also be found under the hood of the M850i.
It comes as no surprise why this engine was carried over to the X5 and X7; its powerful, quick, and efficient. Both vehicles will now produce up to 523 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. The X5 model can zoom from zero to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds, with the X7 just behind at 4.5 seconds. Drivers can expect to reach an electronically limited top speed of 130 mph with all-season tires or 155 mph with summer performance tires. The X5 boasts 20-inch wheels as standard with the option to upgrade, but the X7 comes standard with 22-inchers.
Pricing info, too, has been relayed by BMW. The X5 M50i to start at $82,150. The larger X7 M50i is available starting at $99,600. Further details are forthcoming.
