Mega-Producer Ryan Murphy Relists Laguna Beach Spread at $17.8M After Price Chop

Director-producer Ryan Murphy recently relisted his Laguna Beach mansion, trimming a million off the ask in the process.

The “Glee” creator first hefted the Los Angeles-area home onto the market in February of 2018, asking $18.75; it is now priced at $17.75 million. Murphy recently signed a $300-million deal with Netflix, though, so he probably isn’t terribly upset about the price reduction.

The house underwent a considerable rebuild during Murphy’s tenure, bringing in Mark Singer to spin the modern as a contemporary. The 5,000-square-foot main boasts airy living spaces, with clerestories and skylights opening up the interiors, and walls of glass offering lovely views of the Laguna coast. Soaring pitched ceilings and sleek concrete floors help establish the updated feel of the residence.

The property was also expanded by Murphy, who purchased two plots for roughly $8 million to build it up to 1.25 acres. A massive poolside pavilion, a 43-foot-long swimming pool, a concrete entertaining pavilion, and lush gardens fill out what has become an extensive property exterior.
