Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber bought one house recently, and sold another. The incoming property is comfortably situated in the groomed green resort city of La Quinta.
The house is a four-bedroom single-floor with modern, ranch-style, and contemporary design cues. Its exterior features stacked stone accents, columns, covered terraces, and an attached pergola.
The interiors of the 2013-build house measure a little less than 6,000 square feet. The layout rambles, and the single-story design allows for comfortably high ceilings. Plank wood ceiling trays, modern gas fireplaces, marble floors, and recessed fixtures give the home a somewhat formal living style.
Notable spaces include the kitchen, the master bedroom, and the outdoor living area. The kitchen’s custom cabinetry is a standout feature; the wall-of-cabinets design makes the space seem larger than it is, and gives it some definition in the open-concept living area. The vertical mosaic tile backsplashes contrast effectively with the wood grain.
The master suite receives a monster of a fireplace accent wall, and in marble; an imposing feature for such an intimate space, but it suits the ‘developer design-sense’ of the home to a T. Lots of buttons being pushed here, and this is a big one.
But the home really shines when it comes to exterior living spaces. That’s not surprising, as the golf-community and desert-climate setting suggests many a lazy afternoon on the patio or pool sunlounge, watching the golfing goings-on in the distance.
