Academy Award-winning screenwriter Charlie Kaufman is looking to move on from his Pasadena home for $2.595 million.
Kaufman—who penned screenplays for “Being John Malkovich” and “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”—might just regret selling the 109-year-old Craftsman home. The four-bedroom, 3.25-bath house was designed and built by Austin and Grable, and it’s a feast for lovers of the substantial, punctilious style.
Tucked behind dense foliage and mature trees, the 3,576-square-foot home features a wraparound front porch and a gabled roof with dramatically extended eves. There are lovely hardwoods, earth tones, and period details galore, including a spacious living room with a tiled fireplace, built-in bookshelves, and pendant fixtures. Further inside, the kitchen and dining room continue the classic, natural aesthetic with the wood trim and green accents that are the themes of the home.
The house features a loft, two offices, and a 660-square-foot guesthouse with its own gym, kitchen, and studio. Future residents will also enjoy the lush backyard with its patio and swimming pool with a spa.
