Actress Melanie Griffith has sold her Aspen retreat for $4 million. It’s uncertain what the asking price was—it appears that the home was offered as a whisper listing—but, according to public records, Griffith and ex-husband Antonio Banderas bought the property for $3.55 million over fifteen years ago.

The home’s exterior merges chalet and log cabin styles. It’s nestled amid groves of aspen trees and conifers, and landscaped with gardens, lawns, and a stone reflecting pool. Brick is used extensively to express the outdoor living areas, walkways, and staircases, augmenting the natural look. It blends into its hilly, forested landscape very well.

The interior of the home is dominated by a spectacular great room that blends contemporary alpine, industrial, and rustic design elements; while open-trussed ceilings with iron hardware provide a comp, an unusually fine stone fireplace serves as a centerpiece; it features arched openings on three sides, and gives the home a storybook appeal.

The house measures just slightly less than 7,400 square feet, and contains five bedrooms and six baths. The glassy master opens to deck access and features a bath decorated with custom tile. The home’s amenities include a 9,000-bottle wine cellar, a billiards room, and guest quarters.

The two acres are ski in, ski out. And how about those views.

Griffith appeared in one of the final episodes of ‘SMILF.’ She and Banderas divorced in 2015.
