Actor Aaron Paul has listed his classic 1930s Spanish-style home above the Sunset Strip after paying $7 million for Jim Parsons’ endlessly charming architectural in Los Feliz. Paul, the Emmy-winning star of ‘Breaking Bad,’ is asking $2.499 million for the sensitively updated 1931-built house; he purchased the property for $1.5 million in 2012.

The house boasts a few strikingly substantial period details, beginning with the original front door. The foyer is a classic raised design, with step-down living spaces opening on both sides. Hardwood and tile floors are original; the wealth of wrought iron also hails from the period. Other charming details include sets of French doors, niche built-ins, exposed beams, and French casement windows.

Updates include the soft tones used to express the living style. The living room receives a warm treatment that enhances the hardwood and the limestone fireplace nicely—but the soft green in the dining room makes for a more intriguing color choice, presenting the breezy room as soothingly airy.

The 2,396 square-footer has more than one surprise up its sleeve. The kitchen is one of them; the space is a little tight, but it’s also entirely unpretentious, and as whimsical as it is circumspect in treatment. Green countertops against all the wood makes for a pleasingly easygoing tension that should stimulate the creative in any hobbyist gourmet.

The home’s four bedrooms and four baths culminate in a master with an elevated, glassy lanai, and an outdoor veranda offering atmosphere and solid city views.

Paul has joined the cast of ‘Westworld’ for the show’s third season. But you’ll have to wait until next year to see it.
