One of the more adventure-ready custom tuning projects we’ve seen this year is the latest from Arkonik: the Recon D110.

The custom build is a wilderness-ready take on the sturdy Defender. Nicknamed “restomods,” these restorations of the now-discontinued all-terrain vehicle model are increasingly popular and require a big refurbishment budget.

The D110 was designed for a customer looking to use their Defender to explore the rugged outer reaches of Sun Valley, Idaho. It certainly looks rough and ready, and able to handle the terrain. New Hella spotlights, Trucklite LED headlights, and all-terrain BFGoodrich tires have been added.

Other performance and utility components include a custom Satin Black grille, a bespoke hood, and a Terrafirma suspension. Inside, three sets of seats clad in black Nappa leather with Alcantara trim add a bit of high-end flash to the cabin, and Apple Car Play, an Alpine sound system with a touchscreen, and an LED lighting package bring some cush to the bush.
