Ginetta Akula’s Aggressive Look Leaves No Doubt As to Its Intentions

British luxury automotive brand Ginetta introduced the world to its new supercar just in time for the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.

Ginetta’s new Akula features a front end that means business. The aggressively sporty supercar takes its style inspiration from the company’s LMP1 race cars, so it’s meant to be mean.

Speed is paramount, and plenty of carbon fiber in the bodywork keeps the superpowered vehicle’s weigh down to just 2,535 lbs. That’s a svelte track-car curb weight, fighting fettle for higher speeds.

Under the hood, the powerful Akula boasts a naturally aspirated 6.0-liter, dry-sumped 90-degree V8 crafted from a single aluminum billet block. As a result of the customized engine setup, the supercar produces 600 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque.

We’re still waiting on details about the interior. But the cabin includes molded seats and luxe materials like billet aluminum, carbon fiber, and Alcantara.

Ginetta’s Akula will be limited to just 20 examples for 2020. It is priced at around $532,000.
