Mercedes-AMG recently introduced pricing information for its upcoming GT 53 4-door.

Interested customers will be able to purchase a new 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT 53 at just under $100,000: base price for the GT 53, including the destination fee, is $99,995. Mercedes clearly took pains to position the GT 53 at five figures, even if only a whisker away from six.

The entry-level vehicle costs quite a bit less to drive home than the V8-powered GT 63, which starts at about $137,500. Sure, the new GT 53 doesn’t boast a V8, but the turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 engine setup is more than adequate, with 429 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque available.

The engine is paired with a Mercedes EQ Boost 48-volt mild-hybrid electric system for a solid launch speed: the 53 can move from zero to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds. Top speed is electronically capped at 174 MPH.

The GT 53 will be in U.S. dealerships this spring.
