With two residential property purchases in Beverly Hills under her belt in the last couple of years—a $19 million estate and a $7.5 million guest home for family and friends—Katy Perry has been looking to shuck her classic Spanish-style in Hollywood Hills. It sold this winter.
Perry initially listed the Hollywood Hills property in 2017, about four months after buying the extravagant trophy in Beverly Hills, which borders a nature preserve, and presumably serves as her main house. She initially offered it quietly, then put it on the open market with an ask of $9.45 million.
Perry purchased the home in 2013, along with an adjacent home; under her ownership, the property measured a total 4 acres. But Perry has likely held onto the smaller property.
The house features interiors that are bright and open, with pale wood, abundant glass, and subtle warmth presenting a casual living style. The home’s fireplaces are grand statements, with the limestone entry in the master suite taking the prize. Details in the home include ornamental windows, vaulted ceilings, and inlaid hardwood floors.
There are four bedrooms and five baths throughout the property, but that includes a guest house; total square footage comes to 7,418, including a studio which was purposed as a fitness space at the time of the sale.
The acreage includes a solid survey of upscale SoCal features: citrus trees, gardens, terraces and patios, walking paths, and a sizeable pool and sunlounge.
Katy Perry has sold over 100 million records worldwide. In 2018, the pop megastar was the highest paid woman in music with earnings of $83 million, according to Forbes.
