Tech companies introduced a variety of new smart home products at the recent 2019 Consumer Electronics Show, and Samsung was among them. The Korean tech juggernaut took to the show to unveil its Family Hub Fridge.
Although this certainly isn’t the first time Samsung has put a touchscreen on one of its refrigerators, this new Family Hub Fridge boasts a number of new features that pique interest. Customers familiar with the smart fridge can still expect to receive news and weather updates, play music and video, set reminders, create a shopping list, and even more. But the Family Hub refrigerator’s flashy, 21.5-inch touchscreen now also includes a Family Board to display messages and post photos. Gone is the clutter of random papers and magnets, and in its place is a sleek, high-tech alternative to displaying important memories and messages.
One of the best features of the Family Hub Fridge is the ability to see inside the fridge without opening it, even when out and about at the grocery store. Do you have any milk? Find out by using the Family Hub app your phone. It’s as easy as that.
Users will also enjoy access to the updated version of Samsung’s Bixby voice assistant. Bixby’s communication has developed into a more pleasingly conversational style, and it also responds to a wide variety of voice commands.
Details regarding pricing and availability haven’t been released yet by Samsung. But the Family Hub should be available in another year or so.
