Last October, producer DJ Khaled picked up a new trophy estate in Miami Beach; the place had belonged to ‘Baby on Board’ sign creator Michael Lerner, but Lerner was happy to hand the property over to the prolific hitmaker for just shy of $22 million. It took a couple of months for Khaled to list his now-superfluous house in South Florida, but this week list it he did, for a dollar under $8 million.

The outgoing property is in Aventura, a community north of Miami Beach; the house is a decked-out 2001 Italianate bit of flash in Island Estates. The home begins with a dramatic foyer with a round sofa. Its custom features include a spectacular spiral staircase illuminated by an ornate crystal chandelier, and the most comfortable-looking room in the house: Khaled’s office, which boasts warm plank hardwood, a beige treatment, fanlight windows, and a coffered ceiling.

The home’s five bedrooms and seven baths include a 70s-inspired master suite with a raised bed platform, marble floors, and the purple-and-white color motif that pops up throughout the living spaces. The master’s dressing room is decked out in leopard-print carpet and features a purple glass chandelier.

The 6,700 square-foot house is augmented by the exterior living space on the half-acre lot: a marble-tiled pavilion, an arcade, a secluded-looking corner of tropical green, and an outdoor recreation area comprised of a kidney-shaped pool with raised spa, a fairly large patio, and a covered summer kitchen fill out the waterfront property.
