“Girls” star and creator Lena Dunham is looking to move on from her Williamsburg neighborhood apartment, but not before she collects something in the neighborhood of $3 million. The actress/writer paid $2.9 million for the unit earlier this year, so she’s set to pretty much break even.
Dunham—who won a Golden Globe in 2013—has already relocated to a new locale in Manhattan’s West Village. But she likely won’t have any problem finding a buyer for her three-bedroom, 2.5-bath condo. Located on one of the top floors of a very appealing converted factory building, the 1,987-square-foot apartment features an open-concept combination main living space and a simple composition favoring natural-toned wood and plentiful glass.
Luxe features like hardwood floors, 13-foot open-beam ceilings, plenty of built-ins, and stone’s-throw views of the Brooklyn Bridge add to the condo’s high-end appeal. The main living space is anchored by a statement gas fireplace that works a bit of cool-toned tile into the mix. In the master suite, two small walk-in closets meet with a marble-floored bathroom and a soaking tub for added comfort.
The building dates to 1918, and in a former life was the Gretsch Musical Instrument factory, where guitars favored by Chet Atkins, Bo Diddley, Duane Eddy, and Eddie Cochran were built. Hipster cachet to burn.
Dunham, an eight-time Emmy-nominated creative, has a supporting role in next year’s highly anticipated ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’; the family movie is due in theaters next summer.
