Lakers co-owner Jesse Buss recently listed his Los Angeles-area home for $4.595 million. Buss no longer has a need for the beautiful Westwood home: he just picked up a new Brentwood mansion for $10 million.
The Cape Cod-inspired residence was constructed three years ago, and features a light and airy contemporary style. It spans 4,118 square feet, with five bedrooms and seven baths, and a series of not-bad features that include French oak flooring, tall ceilings, and several fireplaces. Extensive use of tongue-and-groove in the ceiling design gives the living style a pleasing cottagey familiarity.
On the bottom floor, formal and casual living spaces offer plenty of space to entertain. The family room, which flows directly into the dining area and kitchen, gets a gas fireplace with a traditional mantel, and opens onto the exterior via two sets of French doors. The large kitchen is large enough to cater, and features high-end appliances and the requisite pendant trio over a large eat-in marble-counter island.
Upstairs a spacious loft with its own fireplace awaits, and looks plenty cozy. The spacious master suite features a vaulted ceiling, built-in bookshelves, another fireplace, and a large marble-clad bathroom.
The lot works in patio space, a small lawn, a kidney-shaped swimming pool, and a raised spa.
