Warm Nordic Brings Back Hans Olsen’s ‘Fried Egg’ Chair in Sheepskin Attire

Warm Nordic has cooked up a cozy embellishment to the typically spare Scandinavian style. They’ve put their own spin on Hans Olsen’s classic “Fried Egg” chair by adding shearling to the seat.

The Danish design company’s take on the ergonomic lounger features a plush layer of sheepskin to enhance Olsen’s popular chair for the apres-ski set. The fundamental shape of the chair remains the same; it’s still an ideal Sunday-morning reader. And it appears to keep the teak. But customers can select from three color/pattern options in Warm Nordic’s comfortable iteration.

The original asymmetrical art-furniture piece is now a classic of Danish Modern design; examples typically sell in the thousands, so it’s nice to have a cold-weather version available for about half of what an Olsen would cost.

And the chair was released with the approval of Olsen’s estate. It’s available in hand-stitched sheepskin in Moonlight white, Scandinavian gray, and a Patchwork edition for about $2,700.
