Multitalented movie exec Chris Weitz recently listed his Malibu beach house for $2.98 million.
Weitz paid $1.95 million for the Big Rock Beach residence. The 1,917-square-foot oceanfront home was built in 1946 and was, in a past life, a duplex. Its mid-century beachfront design style incorporates many a familiar, classic detail, including beamed ceilings, hardwood floors, tongue-and-groove, and retractable glass.
The modern-style boasts an open-concept floor plan allowing for a seamless flow from each living space. Expansive ocean views are available from nearly any spot in the combination living and dining space.
Said living space gives way to a sprawling sun deck that stretches the length of the entire home. Downstairs, the master suite occupies the entire level. It features a private lounge. The master bath boasts a soaking tub and soothing views of the Pacific, two very effective forms of hydrotherapy.
Weitz co-wrote “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” the best thing to happen to the franchise in many a year. More recently, he directed the 2018 flick “Operation Finale”; the film stars Ben Kingsley.
