Actress Anne Hathaway recently moved on from her Connecticut home. This month she found a buyer with $2.7 million to take the classic Gold Coast Colonial-style off her hands.
The Oscar-winning star didn’t make a fuss about the listing, and the luxurious residence was offloaded in an off-market deal that actually, when the ink had dried, left Hathaway in the red. Hathaway and husband Adam Shulman paid $2.79 million for the home two years ago, the pair is only out about $90,000 aside from carrying costs and transaction fees.
The 1920’s Westport Colonial is located just an hour from Manhattan. The 4,600-square-foot home has been carefully maintained and holds five bedrooms.
Set on one acre of land, the residence is set at the end of a long, gated driveway and has been christened CompoBello. Recent photos aren’t available but, at the time of the couple’s purchase, the home featured a spacious dining room with a fireplace and a luxurious formal living room.
Further inside is a beautiful kitchen clad with black marble countertops that opens to a spacious family room. Outside are a heated saltwater swimming pool and a spa.
Hathaway’s upcoming big-screen appearances include a lead in ‘Serenity’; the neo-80’s-neo-noir hits theaters like a slap from a femme fatale early in the new year, and also stars Matthew McConaughey.
