In August of this year, actor Denise Richards finally managed to sell the Hidden Hills home she’d had on and off the market for over three years. The sale price of $4.8 million was a far cry from the $7.7 million initial asking price, but that didn’t stop the Bond Girl club member from renting a pretty little beachfront cottage in a quieter corner of Malibu for $17.5K a month.
The house sits in a corner of the area that has also—thankfully—escaped the fury of the Woolsey fire, which destroyed billions of dollars’ worth of residential and commercial property. The fire was contained about a week ago.
And, Richards’ idyllic waterfront fantasy? The property is grounded by a 3,100 square-footer, which is graced with the expected amount of glass, terra-cotta tile floors, brick, and a private boardwalk extending beachward across the sand. A newer studio on the property extends the accommodation possibilities a bit, augmenting the main home’s three bedroom and three baths.
The shared living space features sliding glass doors, and an open layout. The galley kitchen is nestled in the front of the house, and not in its typical beach-house spot with views of the water; but it’s bright and appealing. Terrazzo countertops are a welcome change from natural stone.
Outside, a brick patio partially sheltered by an overhang surveys the beach. No spa, but a raised sunlounge looks appealing for an afternoon’s read.
Richards gives her lungs a workout in this year’s ‘The Toy Box’; on the small screen, she’s joined the ranks of the 90210 wives.
