North American customers will soon get a sneak peek of the 2019 Porsche Macan at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show.
As expected, the luxury German automaker’s updated crossover model doesn’t drastically depart from the outgoing model, which fared well among the upscale set. A host of lesser alterations and now-standard additions include LED headlights, an updated front fascia look, and a special rear LED strip panel similar to those found on the Panamera.
The crossover boasts updated color options, including Dolomite Silver Metallic, Mamba Green Metallic, Miami Blue, and…Chalk. Italian Alps, dangerous serpents, vibrant cities, and…grade-school classrooms. One might have expected the marketing creatives to come up with a name with more appealing associations than Chalk.
Marketing gaffes notwithstanding, Porsche’s winner still looks marvelously game and very contemporary. A brand new 10.9-inch infotainment system complete with Porsche Connect Plus and Traffic Jam Assist make driving easier than ever.
The base engine is now a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, now capable of making 248 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. Drivers will be able to fulfill their need for speed with a zero-to-60 mph leap of 6.1 seconds with the Sport Chrono package option, and a max speed of 142.
Pricing starts at about $50K on the nose. Customers can expect delivery of their 2019 Macans next summer.
