Brooke Shields’ Pacific Palisades Home Available at $25K/Month

In PacPal, a new $25K/month rental option has emerged. Actress Brooke Shields has put her hideaway in the neighborhood on the market as a fully-furnished short-term solution or vacation escape. Shields has owned the house for about two decades, and she’s offered it as a rental before; in 2016, she asked $35K for a month-long stay.

The gated property begins with a pair of fieldstone pilasters and a brick paver drive; the house itself is presented in natural-toned timber cladding and windows sporting subtle prairie-style accents. A misplaced Sierra Nevada artist’s cabin.

The just under 5,350 square feet of interiors are appealingly unpretentious, with tongue-and-groove, open ceilings, and an off-white treatment balanced with antiqued plank hardwood stained fairly dark. Exposed brackets bring a flourish to the timber-frame aesthetic.

The glassed-bordered shared living area is essentially open-concept, and boasts a living room that looks out from the hillside, second-floor location in back to survey the landscape. The kitchen favors a nice balance of stainless, cottagey simplicity and a bit of aristocratic marble. It’s tasteful, and it might be the room of the house; it leads the eye to a day room or breakfast spot with a half-cupola window seat. It has competition with the upstairs master bath, though, which boasts a prominent whitewashed-brick fireplace and a host of windows.

The property exterior is lovely, with the fieldstone of the property entrance picked up as wall accents, and leading quite naturally to the pool and deck at the bottom of the lot. The home’s balconies peer down to tiered landscaping, walking paths, a splendid outdoor staircase, and another deck—in the trees.
