We’ve been looking forward to the new 2019 Mercedes-AMG G63 since its introduction earlier this year. At that time, though, certain specs were scant, and pricing hadn’t been revealed.

This month, Mercedes revealed pricing for the luxurious SUV.  For 2019, the model will start at a whisker shy of $150K with destination and delivery fees. That’s not too far from 2018’s $145K.

The model’s twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine is more efficient than the outgoing 5.5L, pumping out 577 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque; the 2018’s bigger V8 delivered about 517 HP. Paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, the sporty SUV speeds from 0-60 mph in just 4.5 seconds.

Top speed is e-capped at 149 mph, with AMG’s optional Driver’s Package. The driving experience is further improved with an advanced braking system featuring perforated discs, and a whole series of preset modes for on- and off-roading.

Drivers should also get excited about the style improvements, because the new G63 boasts the first considerable update in many years. The new look includes a bolder front fascia complete with an AMG-exclusive grille and larger air intakes.

The 2019 Mercedes-AMG G63 is arriving at local dealerships sometime next year, but the 2019 G 550 is available now, with a base sticker just shy of $125K.
