Michael Spanos recently listed his Pebble Beach home for $9.45 million.
The Chargers Vice Chairman paid $4.175 million for the Spanish-inflected house in the golf community about nine years ago. Located a two hour’s drive south of San Francisco, Pebble Beach is the ideal upscale beach locale for the golf lover.
Spanos’ 5,804-square-foot home is set on a 1.25-acre lot overlooking the 6th and 7th holes of the Pebble Beach Golf Links and the Pacific Ocean beyond. Outside, the gated property features excellent landscaping and a nice survey of period-style design cues. The interiors are rambling, with vaulted ceilings throughout giving the home a good sense of space.
The house does its best work in its shared spaces; the spacious great room is split by a double-sided fireplace that divides the living room from the formal dining area, and it opens to the backyard/terrace thanks to two sections of retractable glass sliders. Further inside, the kitchen stands out with more exposed beams and a large center island.
The five-bedroom, six-bathroom residence also boasts three additional fireplaces, a dedicated office space, and tiered gardens in the backyard.
Spanos is also president of A.G. Spanos, the development company founded by his father, Alex Spanos.
