Karma Revero Gets $145K Special-Edition Called the Aliso

It’s been about three years since Fisker’s Karma model, a pioneering luxury plug-in hybrid from the last decade, evolved into Wanxiang Group’s Karma Automotive. The new company’s first car, the Revero, hit the roads in 2016, and kept to the winning Fisker ideal; the Fisker Karma sold incredibly well.

Karma Automotive’s newest model is a limited-production, special-edition luxury hybrid. It, too, speaks Fisker’s unique design language, and sustains its sophisticated take on muscle-car looks.

The limited hybrid model is called the Aliso, and it’s inspired by the sandy beaches of California. Priced at about $145,000—which is only $15,000 more than the base Revero—this special-edition features a sparkling paint color called Laguna Pearl. The bright paint is accented with glass flakes to give it a shimmering appearance much like a sandy beach. This look is completed with carbon-fiber wheels accented with orange brake calipers.

Inside the cabin, the beachy aesthetic continues. Sand-colored interior styling is paired with red burl wood accents, and, in classic limited-production style, the model name features prominently throughout.

The Aliso boasts plenty of power by way of two electric motors and a 2.0-liter gas engine. The plug-in hybrid makes 400 horsepower and 900 pound-feet of torque, spurring it to a zero-to-60 mph leap in 5.4 seconds.

Only 15 examples of the Aliso will be built. Drivers can expect deliveries to begin next month.
