Hennessey’s tuning gurus are now putting their own spin on the substantial Lincoln Navigator HPE600. And the horsepower increase should give the 3 ton monster an improved launch time.
The luxurious full-size SUV rolls off the factory’s floor offering an output of 450 horsepower; a dose of Hennessey tweaking leaves it with a corral of 600 horses. The standard Navigator features an engine setup quite similar to the 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine found in the F-150 Raptor.
Hennessey worked with a Raptor engine last year, so the upgrade process was a shoe-in. The tuner opted for a new stainless steel exhaust system, a large front-mounted intercooler with a blow-off-valve, a high-flow air induction, and an engine management computer software update.
Upgraded with 150 more hp and a total of 6000 rpm, the new Navigator speeds from zero to 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds. This is a 0.7-second speed increase from the regular Navigator SUV.
Interested drivers can invest in the tuning package for $19,950. Only 200 2018 model upgrades are planned.
