A houseboat that American actor Tom Hanks called home as a teenager recently hit the open market with an asking price of $600,000.
At 1,152 square feet, the San Francisco residence is actually relatively spacious for a houseboat; it holds two bedrooms. However, it is in need of a comprehensive interior renovation since it looks much like it did when Hanks was onboard in the early 1970’s.
The floating home did recently receive quite the exterior facelift, though, so its structurally sound. The seller completely overhauled the hull and wood covering, and shelled out for a new fiberglass coating. Essentially, buyers will just be in charge of cosmetic updates and modern appliances.
Hanks actually confirmed his history with the house via Instagram, but even with his endorsement, the floating home still hasn’t found its next owner.
