Reality TV star Jeff Lewis recently listed his Los Angeles-area limestone contemporary for $7.95 million.
Interestingly, the “Flipping Out” entrepreneur has purchased the Sunset Strip residence twice. At the end of 2002, Lewis paid $860,000 for the home and quickly flipped the property for $1.75 million less than a year later. More recently, he purchased the property for $2.484 million in April 2015.
If the contemporary digs look familiar, it’s because the residence appeared on “Flipping Out.” Lewis oversaw a comprehensive three-year renovation that moved away from Spanish styling, and reinvented the home as a super-slick trophy.
The intense villa features plenty of entertaining space and three en-suite bedrooms in its 4,334 square feet of interior living space. Contrast liberates both exterior and interior from coming off as leaden; the limestone blocks transform an otherwise ponderous exterior by virtue of texture, and the reclaimed oak floors inside bring a welcome dimension of earthy, urbane craftsmanship to the living style.
An advanced lighting and audio system, and plenty of floor-to-ceiling glass paneling balance things out with tech and cool ambiance; the open-concept kitchen and dining space boasts a large wall of retractable panels that opens to a 400-square-foot terrace. A fire pit, a swimming pool and spa, and excellent city views round out a quick look at this unique and substantial home.
