Retired MLB star Mike Piazza is still hoping to hit a metaphorical home run in the sale of his Miami Beach home. Well, perhaps a good line drive; he’s reduced the ask to $16.9 million to stimulate a little action.
Piazza and his wife, Alicia, originally listed the impressive waterfront mansion for $18.5 million in December of last year. After failing to find a buyer, the eight-bedroom, 9.5-bath Florida manse is now available at a reduced cost.
The Tuscan-style estate stretches to 10,000 square feet and boasts a number of luxurious features, including an elevator, wine cellar, and spacious gathering spaces ideal for entertaining. The style is cohesive; the home was custom built, and modeled on a villa in Tuscany. Italianate design elements abound, and include wood-beamed ceilings, French doors, and Jerusalem stone flooring.
The estate also boasts frontage on Miami’s Intracoastal Waterway. Between the house and the water is a beautifully landscaped glade with a lush lawn, a stone terrace, a swimming pool, and a spa.
