Indian Motorcycles recently announced that two new flat-track-racing bikes are scheduled for production: the FTR 1200 and the FTR 1200 S. The new bikes are largely due to the successful reveal of a one-off FTR 1200 Custom build at last year’s EICMA bike show.
Indian unveiled the duo at the annual Intermot motorcycle trade show in Cologne, Germany, and they got a lot of attention, which is understandable. Both builds straddle period appeal and contemporary tech.
The FTR 1200 boasts a powerful liquid-cooled 1203cc V-Twin engine. The design is similar to the FTR 750 race bike, and this production model looks fast and is fast, producing 120 horsepower. The gauge is a mix of analog and digital, and it gets a black treatment.
Up next is the FTR 1200 S; it’s a little more forthcoming finish-wise, with a color scheme that is extremely attractive. 1002S riders will undoubtedly appreciate the adjustable front and rear piggyback suspension; additional upgrades include advanced traction control, lean-angle stability control, and a 4:3 LCD touchscreen.
Both bike models are also equipped with reliable ABS brakes and cruise control. Interested riders can pick up the FTR 1200 in Thunder Black starting at $12,999. The FTR 1200 S starts at $14,999 in Titanium Metallic over Thunder Black Pearl, Indian Motorcycle Red over Steel Gray, or racing-inspired FTR-750.
