Retired Michigan District Court judge turned “Judge Mathis” star Greg Mathis recently listed his Los Angeles-area home for $3.2 million.

The longtime daytime-TV star is hoping potential buyers rule in favor of his Tarzana home and its current list price. Mathis paid about $1.9 million for the expansive 6,400-square-foot home toward the end of 2011.

Mediterranean in style, the five-bedroom, six-bathroom home was built in the mid-1990s, and is set on nearly an acre behind grand wrought-iron gates. The home features a double-height great room space with dual staircases, wrought-iron banisters, and marble floors.

The layout and proportions of the home are excellent. There are several large spaces perfect for hosting friends and family, including the double-height living room, the formal dining room, and the casual breakfast nook. The family room flows directly into the expansive kitchen, complete with dark cabinetry, marble countertops, and two spacious islands.

Future residents will also likely be drawn to the home’s sprawling canyon views. A terrace, built-in barbecue, and lagoon-style swimming pool and spa all overlook the dramatic countryside vistas.
