The luxurious Bel-Air estate of late actress Zsa Zsa Gabor sold this month for $20.8 million. The sale represents a big payoff for a flipper.

The iconic socialite’s former Los Angeles-area residence last sold for $10.45 million in 2017. The French Regency-style mansion is nestled in the lush hills, and was once known to host visitors like Henry Kissinger, Frank Sinatra, and Nancy Reagan. It went up for sale again in July of this year. It had been priced at $23.5 million.

Part of the 6,400-square-foot home’s allure is its classic Old Hollywood charm. The yellow house was constructed in 1955 and boasts a number of original elements reminiscent of the end of the Golden Age of Hollywood. And, the King of Rock-and-Roll himself once lived at the residence; Elvis owned it before Gabor.

The new owners will be welcomed home via an ornate circular foyer accented with paneled walls. The spacious living room features as antique French fireplace and sprawling views.

Most recognizable, though, is the home’s grand red-carpeted exterior staircase leading down from the second-story terrace to the swimming pool below. The property extends to an acre, and features a distinct indoor-outdoor entertaining pavilion with mirrored walls and checkered floors.

Celebrity ownership and a long list of famous guests may not save this house, however. The value of the prime, one-acre lot in this part of Bel Air may indicate a teardown is in the works.
