The talented artisans at Montblanc are showed off their design chops for the Michelangelo Foundation’s Homo Faber exhibition. The high-end writing instrument brand has introduced a beautiful gold nib collection for the exhibition in Venice, showing off their design chops and presenting a pen the master himself may well have approved of.

Due to the size of pen nibs, design and creation is a laborious process requiring the utmost attention to detail. The skills behind the 35-step approach are on full display; the hand-sculpted nibs can be personally adjusted to compensate for an individual writer’s style and needs.

Some of the most impressive pieces feature ornamental designs with special engravings, precious stones, and more. The nibs are the culmination of Montblanc’s century of design experience, and include an ‘Expression Nib,’ a ‘Bespoke Nib,’ and a ‘Jewellery Nib.’

Travelers can see these incredible Montblanc pieces for themselves at the Homo Faber collection on San Giorgio Maggiore Island. The exhibition will be ongoing until September 30.
