The Hawaii estate of late actor and singer Jim Nabors is now available for $14.888 million.
Nabors—who is best known for his role as Gomer Pyle on “The Andy Griffith Show”—purchased the waterfront Honolulu home back in 1992. The famous funnyman’s former Plantation-style residence is situated in Diamond Head.
Sounding by lush foliage and palm trees, the home stretches to just under 5,900 square feet. It’s a bit on the heavy-handed side of 1950’s style, with many a grandiose flourish. Beyond the home’s five bedrooms and six bathrooms, there is also a one-bedroom, one-bath guest suite with its own covered patio opening onto the property.
Which is spectacular. A covered lanai, a cabana with a wet bar, and a swimming pool fill out the grounds, but it’s the access to 170 feet of Ke’ahamoe Bay frontage that give this clunky anachronism all the context it needs.
