Anna Faris Sells Mid-Century Modern in Hollywood Hills for $2.1M, Barely Breaking Even After 13 Years of Ownership

In January of this year, actor Anna Faris listed her Hollywood Hills residence for $2.5 million. She’d owned the home for well over a decade, paying $1.995 million for it in 2005. This week, the ‘Mom’ star sold the home for a little less than $2.1 million.

The 1950’s ranch-style extends to a compact 2,563 square feet, but the property manages to pack in a tremendous amount of atmosphere, inside and out; it’s unusually cohesive. The home’s honey-colored oak floors and gloss-finished beams pick up where the timbered exterior leaves off, giving the house as a whole a nice sense of continuity, and the lushly landscaped lot makes great use of its hilly location, looking nestled and not claustrophobic.

The house contains three bedrooms and 2.5 baths. Interiors are open and inviting, drawing context from the property exterior in an unusually acute way. Boardwalks, stone, and edge-of-wild landscaping give the house a hidden-in-the-woods appeal that begins long before walking in the front door.

The original narrow-plank flooring established a period feel, and renovations to the house have been sensitive enough to allow the history of the home to shine through. The kitchen and master bath have seen recent revisions, with the new style keeping to the simple side of things, enhancing rather than overwhelming.

The property exterior features a unique tiered approach to utilizing the land; a patio overlooking the home is a nice touch. The pool is lagoon-style; not overplayed, but secretive and romantic enough to be beguiling. A very nice house, albeit a compact one.

Faris stars in this year’s reboot of the 1980’s Goldie Hawn hit ‘Overboard.’
