Five-time MLB All-Star Jeff Kent has relisted his Austin home, with a price cut. The ask is now $2.6 million.
Kent originally listed the Texas residence for $3.1 million back in 2016. The home was built in 2004, and cost $4.1 million from start to finish.
A quick look reveals the reason for all the expense. The 8,794-square-foot custom manse holds six bedrooms, seven full baths, and two half-baths. But it’s the creature comforts that make the strongest impression.
The central gathering space boasts an open-concept floor plan including a dining area with a fireplace, a living room with exposed ceiling beams, and a luxurious chef’s kitchen with granite counters and an eating nook. Amenities come thick and fast, with a media room, a game room, a gym, and a virtual sports complex topping the list.
What looks out over the countryside is every kid’s (and adult’s) dream: a resort-style pool and waterpark. A little beyond the elevated swimming pool with a spa and swim-up bar is a professionally designed, 90-foot waterslide curving through the backyard. A basketball court, direct dock access, patios, terraces, and fire features fill out the property.
Second baseman Kent won the MVP in 2000, while playing for San Francisco.
