Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari Pick Up Charming Tennessee Farm for $5.4M

Last month, Kristin Cavallari and her husband, now-retired NFL player Jay Cutler, listed their sprawling greater-Nashville residence for $7.9 million. The duo favors space; that house stretches to very close to 20,000 square feet, and sits on nearly ten acres of land. They’ve just been handed the keys to a new home, and, while not quite as large as the Nashville residence, it also offers lots of space to wander, but more outside the house than within it.

The couple’s new home is also in Tennessee, but a little further from Music City; it is situated about a half-hour south of Nashville. The home is half the size of the pair’s outgoing residence, but the addition of an adjacent undeveloped property brings the total amount of land to nearly fifty acres.

From the exterior, the home looks like a spanking new traditional-style with farmhouse overtones; well-designed, with architecture that suggests character and surprise, and a need to ramble.

And, ramble it does. The front porch is a complex in itself. Further in, there are dormer nooks, slanted ceilings, and accent windows. And many variations of wood grain competing for attention.

There are eight bedrooms and ten baths in the house. The master suite is an exercise in rusticity, with reclaimed raw wood, an antiqued soaking tub, and a nifty, open-design double shower entirely encased in tile.

But the exterior is where the home finds its purpose. Stables, a barn, pens, pastureland, and a pond join brick patios and terraces to present a living style out of the Grand Old Opry blueprint.

With her reality show ‘Very Cavallari’ going strong, Ms. Cavallari has struck while the iron is hot, and launched her own brand: Uncommon James.
