The Malibu beach house of late billionaire Jerry Perenchio recently sold for $12.65 million. The home was just one in a series of Perenchio’s properties that hit the market last year, in the wake of his death.
Located in the Malibu Colony, the 3,700-square-foot beachfront residence holds four bedrooms and four bathrooms. The interiors features a great deal of warmth, with hardwood and brick ascendant, but renovations have left the feel more modern in style, with a blazing execution and lots of added glass.
The main living space boasts whitewashed walls, a fireplace, wood floors, and a floating spiral staircase. Upstairs, the master suite stuns with a long wall of windows, glass doors opening to a beachside balcony, double closets, and a luxurious bathroom.
One of the most beautiful spaces is the large sunroom; here, a pitched roof, exposed beams, and walls of windows overlooking the water combine to render a protected beachfront space. The kitchen impresses as well with a butcher block island, high-end appliances, and enough room for a dedicated dining space.
In addition to its location right on the water, the property boasts an expansive brick patio perfect for lounging or enjoying an al fresco meal. There is also a lounging and tanning space above the staircase that leads down to the beach.
Perenchio was an extremely successful businessman best known for his work as the CEO of Univision.
