If you’re familiar with Nissan‘s GT-R sports car, you have to give this stylized version a look. It’s called the GT-R50.
The automaker paired with Italdesign to develop the special prototype. The GT-R50 was created in honor of the two companies’ 50-year anniversaries. If the vehicle is received well, Nissan plans to create 50 production examples of the exclusive ride.
Available for around $1.06 million each, the sleek prototype features shiny Liquid Kinetic Gray sheet metal that gives the car a glossy, metallic look. Gold mirror covers, a gold grill, and other gold accents add to the car’s unique styling. The appearance is of a steel-and-bronze four-wheeled sculpture, suitable for display as the centerpiece of Nissan’s headquarters.
Except it moves, and moves fast. The model gets a 3.8-liter V6 engine that produces 710 horsepower and 575 pound-feet of torque, and the updated GT-R suspension features an adjustable damping system. Inside the cabin, Alcantara, carbon fiber, and, of course, more gold accents are on display. The materials pair well with the sleek black Italian leather seats and carbon-fiber steering wheel.
The companies unveiled the GT-R50 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this month.
