Hollywood screenwriter and producer Simon Kinberg has said goodbye to his Los Angeles manse.
Kinberg—known for his work on the “X-Men” film franchise—picked up the Sunset Strip traditional for $8.4 million about three years ago, and let it go this month for $7.87 million.
The traditional exterior gives way to a very up-to-date interior that begins with an expression of openness; a main living area with a second-floor gallery and modern-style ceiling design.
Stretching to 6,300 square feet, the five-bedroom home impresses with contemporary styling throughout and a series of zeitgeist styling cues that include in-wall fireplaces, barn doors, and light fixtures. Matte-finished wide-plank hardwood floors span the home’s open-concept living spaces, another nod to contemporary tastes. The sleek kitchen shines with marble and quartz countertops; it’s so minimal in execution it almost doesn’t exist.
The home opens broadly to the outdoor living area via a retractable glass, where a summer kitchen, pool and spa, hardwood deck, and guesthouse fill out the property.
