British automaker Aston Martin is moving beyond the earthbound automobile, and into the skies. The company’s gaze has drifted upward, and the Brits are showing off their Volante Vision Concept to prove it.
Aston Martin partnered with Cranfield Aerospace Solutions, Cranfield University, and Rolls-Royce to develop the unique new plane concept. The Volante Vision Concept is a hybrid of sorts, and all four of the forward-thinking companies contributed their best in aerospace, engineering, and autonomous capabilities to develop what could be a model for travel in the near future.
Aston Martin’s President and CEO Dr. Andy Palmer sees the concept’s introduction as a solution to traffic and congestion in big cities. “Air travel will be a crucial part in the future of transportation, the Volante Vision Concept is the ultimate luxury mobility solution,” said Palmer.
Beyond the plane’s sleek styling and luxury features, Aston Martin aims to revolutionize travel options by reducing commutes and creating alternate and sustainable transportation options. This particular concept could very well be in use in the near future as an executive-level conveyance.
