Noted pen maker and accessory brand Montblanc has introduced its new 1858 watch collection. The new line pays homage to the iconic timepiece brand Minerva with five unique wristwatches.
Montblanc acquired the Minerva brand about 12 years ago. The collection was developed to honor Minerva’s 160 years of watchmaking experience, and the fact that Montblanc’s acquisition of the Swiss marque allowed it to advance its own watchmaking technologies.
As a celebration of the two brands’ relationship, Montblanc created the five vintage-inspired watches. The undisputable star of the collection is the Montblanc 1858 Monopusher Chronograph.
Limited to just 100 examples, the 40mm stainless-steel Monopusher Chrono boasts a classic Minerva caliber 13.21 complete with a manually wound movement visible via a sapphire crystal caseback. Pricing is available upon request.
Montblanc’s line includes four other timepieces, including a 42mm Manufacture Worldtime Geosphere, a 40 mm stainless-steel automatic wristwatch, a 42 mm chronograph, and a unique pocket watch.
Available starting at $2,670 for the automatic version, each item in the collection boasts a classic, vintage look thanks to cathedral-shaped hands, railway minute tracks, and a 1930s-era Montblanc logo.
