PGA fixture Hunter Mahan recently listed his residence in Texas for sale. The golf pro is looking for $3.795 million for the home, a traditional/farmhouse style on 1.26 acres located outside the city of Dallas.
The house is situated in Long Cove Community, a gated, lakefront golf and leisure community in Malakoff, a city about seventy miles southeast of Dallas. Malakoff’s residence is on a waterfront lot, and dates to 2015. It contains six bedrooms and eight baths in its 5,356 square feet of interior living space.
The home’s interiors are traditional farmhouse, and heavily rusticated in the contemporary manner; matte-finished wide-plank or distressed hardwood floors, lantern light fixtures, barn doors, and lots of tongue and groove and exposed beams carry the conceit.
The kitchen features glass-front upper cabinets and a separate grill/BBQ station, and an open-concept layout merges it with the living room, which features a stone fireplace and a dramatically vaulted ceiling.
Although the farmhouse interiors are convincing, the home’s exterior holds much of the appeal of the property. A private dock, rolling lawns with mature trees, and a large hardwood deck surrounding a pool and elevated spa looks out over the lake and a peaceful slice of upper-end Texas real estate.
Mr. Mahan’s professional career in golf has included six PGA wins; the most recent was a trophy at The Barclays in 2014, where he took the tourney by two strokes.
